Dear Blog,

I am officially addicted to angry birds!

I wanted to help the angry birds so badly. Those pigs are so so so evil!

Well, at least it helped me during unhappy moments.

I realised I missed a lot of people, especially people that I have not seen for one or two months.

I realised I am trying to force myself not to talk to my friends on MSN nowadays unless they messaged me, or unless I really really needed them. This would reduce the trouble caused by over obsession of chatting with certain people in my mind. This would also reduce the disappointment in me when I do not get the desired response from my friends. It would also reduce the uncertainty that I have within myself regarding my friends.

Probably this is a better way of assurance for me.

Dear Blog,

Its raining again in Singapore.

Although I am in the lab, I know its raining outside because my phone tells me about the weather outside! Yes i have changed to a new smartphone. My new HTC sensation is just superb! I love it so much! Android is doing so good!

And I think I will fall sick very soon. Again! Rain water is so "poisoning"!

I have a question in my mind now!

I wonder how many people actually like me and how many people actually dislike me?

Sometimes I really want to know what other people REALLY thinks about me. Am I annoying? or am I too pushy?

I realised that knowing the truth is a great assurance for me. No matter the truth hurts or not.

After the Kuching trip......

Dear Blog,

Just came back from Kuching. Tired.

After all the feast in Kuching, and YES, I mean FEAST, my body could not take it anymore. I start to have flu and sore throat! Luckily its after I savour all the good food in Kuching. At least I would get a chance to lose some weight while taking care of my diet!

After the Kuching trip, my suspicion is being confirmed! I am still under the "post UK trip syndrome". I feel tired easily, and am able to sleep non-stop for many hours. I fall asleep easily in the afternoon. I feel tired during dinner time. My eyes can barely open. Even my cousin asked me whether I was too tired on the grandma's birthday dinner. My whole body just sort of gave up on me. My energy level is always at minimal almost everyday, even though I have enough sleep at night.

After the Kuching trip, I realised how important family members are. Their support and care are just incomparable. We should always treasure this kind of relationship!

For now, its back on Earth. Going back to Singapore tomorrow to continue working in lab.

Dental appointment

Dear Blog,

I went to see a dentist today. Its a follow up of my previous so called MOS - minor oral surgery, to extract my badly decayed wisdom tooth.

I thought it would be a simple procedure of filling up the cavity, but it turns out to be more complicated than i thought. Here is the background. The badly decayed wisdom tooth was affecting my adjacent molar tooth due to improper "wisdom tooth management". Food residue had been stuck in the area for at least 4 years, causing the tooth both side to decay slowly. The cavity at my molar tooth was very deep at the side, very near to the nerves. To prevent pain during the filling up procedure, I was injected with anesthesia before the procedure started. The procedure went smoothly in the end, thank God.

At the moment of writing this blog, I am watching Venue Williams playing Ana Ivanovic at the tournament in Eastbourne. Venus looks very sharp in her play, while Ana just sort of inconsistent in her serves, her groundstrokes and her volley. Should be an easy win for Venus. I am looking forward more to the Serena Williams vs Vera Zvonereva match later. Should be an interesting ones.

I am going to Kuching tomorrow. Can't wait to meet my cousins. I think they have grown up a lot since last time I met them.

不能接受自己？

亲爱的部落格，

决定还是把此刻的心情记录起来。哪知有一天重新翻阅，还觉得可笑呢！也有可能读者会觉得这是废话连篇，一点都不成熟。哈哈！

自从我到了新加坡深造，发现自己内心的转变非常大。这也不能完全怪新加坡，只能怪自己太过软弱，容易被环境牵着鼻子走。

我发现我已经变得跟四年前不一样了。[一样还得了！] 我发现自己仿佛内心出现两个身份，其中一个佳训正在观看另外一个佳训转变，变成一个很奇怪的人。虽然旧的佳训还在，但好像被一层新的佳训覆盖着。

这个人非常情绪化，每一天的心情好像过山车一样，到了顶点，就俯冲直下。内心情绪的不安虽然很少写在脸上，但却很现实的影响我的正常生活。我觉得好辛苦啊！身边的朋友时常都必须忍受我没完没了的申诉，实在有点不好意思。

这个人非常没有安全感。每一天都会觉得全世界都放弃了他、讨厌他、不喜欢他。这个人每一天所期盼的，就是得到某种的肯定。他会从自己所听见的、所看见的对方的言行举止，来“判断”自己所做的是否是对或错。如果发现任何所谓的”异常“，就会觉得很沮丧，觉得自己作错了，然后设法弥补。我知道很多时候是自己想得太多，但我阻止不了我自己这么去想。我会觉得我得罪了全世界的人，我不讨身边的人的欢欣。我会从每天与朋友的接触当中，尽量寻找一种自我的肯定，来安慰自己。我发现我每天所做的事，就是尽量在讨好别人。你不觉的这个人活的很辛苦吗？

庆幸的是，我还能观察自己的改变。我有试着让自己不这么去想，开始提醒自己，我并没有那么伟大，可以影响别人。大多时候，只是自己在空烦恼罢了。我必须学习放下某些事物，不要全部的东西都付出完全的精神、感情，因为离开有感情的事物，只会让我更伤心。

我发现我越来越不能接受这样的自己。我为何会有这样的改变呢？我真的不知到其中的原因。

我好想重新开始，回到过去，回到那历史的转捩点，可能情况会不一样吧！

是时候转换环境了，新加坡再待两年就够了。我发现自己重幼稚园到大学，几乎都是每六年换一次环境，可能这次也不例外吧！

谢谢我身边一群朋友们对我的厚爱，你们的忍耐程度，小弟佩服，在此谢谢大家。

New semester! My last year in NUS!

Dear all,

Tomorrow is Singapore's National Day. So happy birthday!

The day after tomorrow begins my first of the two last semesters in NUS. Pressure is on for me as I have to juggle between different responsibilities of mine in different organisations. Being a chairperson in CVCF is definitely not an easy task. Thank God for guiding me throughout, and I still got fire in me!

Someone told me that I am showing more emotions on my face than before. Good thing? Bad thing?

For the next semester, I will be taking 4 modules + 1 FYP: final year project. I will be taking PC4259 Surface Physics, PC3233 Atomic and Molecular Physics 1, ESP4302 Nanophotonics and GE2228 Atmospheric Environment. I took the geography module just to fulfill the little geography dream that I have in my mind before I decided to indulge myself in scientific research!

For my FYP, all I can say is my project involves using laser to do some sort of patterning of catalyst. After that, I will use the catalyst to grow nanostructures, most likely one-dimensional structures of semiconductor for various applications.

I got myself a new camera and I am very excited about it. I brought it to almost all occasions and outings with my friends. I wish to capture all the moments that I have with all my lovely friends! I will post of my photos on Facebook!

《背影》

突然觉得可以分享这事。

当年我在SPM拿“中国文学”这个科时，在友联文选里，重新读到了鲁迅的《背影》。

等等！什么？鲁迅的背影？我知道了，是朱自清的！哈哈！故意的。

无聊。

Anyway，当时读了之后，没有什么感触。我似乎无法体会到作者看到父亲的背影，对父亲的那份爱所感动。我只把它当作一个我考试时需要去准备的材料。

过了许久，也就是两个星期前，我回马六甲参加布道所的献堂礼。我买了傍晚的巴士票，而我父亲也就送我到巴士站。虽然我坚决的拒绝，但我父亲还是找了个停车位，打算陪我进去车站等巴士。爸他也想帮我提行李，但我坚持自己来。怎么能让他来呢？

进了车站，我们找了个位子坐下。父子俩虽坐在一起，但彼此没有对话，但却能感觉到我爸对我的不舍。

眼看离启程的时间近了，我爸提醒我快上巴士。道别之后，我就上了巴士。在我的座位上，隔着玻璃窗，我默默的向外寻找我爸，发现他依然坐在外面的位子。突然，一阵暖流涌入了我的心，眼睛再也承受不了压力，终于溃堤。我突然深深的被感动。啊！我爸是多么的疼我、爱我。我终于能够体会到朱自清写背影使的那一份感动。虽然我父亲没有买橘子，也没有蹒跚，我也没有坐火车，但我绝对相信那种感觉是一样的。一种对父亲的爱招架不住的感动。我深深的体会到做父亲的真的是很难表达对孩子的爱，又时需要板着脸来教训孩子，又有时需要顾及面子而无法真情流露。

巴士离开了，爸也离开了，在人群中慢慢的消失。望着那熟悉的背影，我再一次深深的被感动。一个男人，所有的努力，就为了提供孩子更好的生活环境，更好的教育，更好的物质享受，从来都没有为孩子努力而发出怨言。妈也一样，辛苦了大半辈子，终于可以休息，作个称职的老板娘！哈哈！

我终于发现，父母的爱，对我的成长原来有这么深的影响。他们是多么的疼爱孩子。我也发现，我原来这么的在乎他们，多么的爱他们。

爸、妈，再给我六年的时间，虽然有点长，但等我有机会从博士班毕业后，我会更加的孝顺你们，更加的爱你们。那时，你们就不用再为我操心了。

爸、妈，我爱你们！！！！永远！！！！

Hi all,

As yuen yi said, it is very difficult to maintain frequent update on a blog, especially when I am busy.....very busy.....

So what really happened? I am not too sure too......just don't have the motivation to write on this blog, probably because I have nothing to share with all of you....

我渐渐觉得新加坡的生活是一个没有静止的循环。这里的人每天都是从一个盒子走向另一个盒子，在从另一个盒子走回同样的盒子。

问：你再说啥？？？

不信吗？就说我一天的校园生活吧！

一觉醒来，就发现自己在一个四方的盒子里。

上了公共巴士，发现自己又在另一个盒子里。

晃呀晃，晃呀晃，晃到了另一个盒子 - 我的实验室，开始把我的奈米材料从烘炉里取出，加上少许的盐、味精、酱油，趁热吃。:-)

看看表，时间到，就去盒子里上课。

傍晚，又再几个盒子穿梭，才能顺利回家。

写到这里，突然觉得有事情可以分享！

Hi,

Its been long since I write here. Don't worry. I will try to update more frequently in the next few days. Here is a snapshot of what I have been working on.....ZnO nanorods with doping as an enhancement method for certain application. What application? Secret.....haha. No lah, coz dun wan it to sound too technical. :-)

I have been trying to grow ZnO nanorods on Silicon substrate with doping using hydrothermal method.

The picture below shows SEM images of ZnO nanorods with nickel doped (not really sure yet), the height of the rods is about 2 micron, which is about 0.0002 cm.

I came across this article today in again TheStar online on people giving up Malaysian citizenship for British.

LONDON: More than 100 Malaysian British Overseas Citizens (BOCs) staged a peace march yesterday as part of their campaign to lobby for British citizenship.

Most of them are from Penang and Malacca who had renounced their Malay-sian citizenship but now find themselves stateless as they are not entitled to British nationality.

They are part of over 500 BOCs in Britain who are in a quandary after being misled into giving up their Malaysian passports as a route towards acquiring British citizenship. Holding placards and banners declaring “Where is our home?” and “We are victims of limbo,” they marched from Westminster Abbey to the Home Office nearby at about 1pm, attracting attention from the lunch-time crowd. “The BOCs have been poorly advised, causing them to live in destitution, fear and exploitation,” said Yeo, who was among the community leaders who turned up to give their support.

These former Malaysians acquired BOC status by virtue of being born in Penang and Malacca before 1983 following an amendment to the British Nationality Act, which created a residual BOC category. Newlywed Lim, who is one of those affected, said he felt sad that he could not go for his honeymoon in Paris despite being married nine months ago. “We’ve saved money for the trip but it’s still a dream as I am stranded in Britain,” said the 33-year-old Penangite. Lim is facing an even worse predicament, as his BOC passport, along with his Malaysian driving licence and cut-up Malaysian passport, were seized by the Home Office two years ago.

He was then detained for overstaying, spending 18 days in four detention centres, including sleeping in Heathrow Airport.

“It’s been a living nightmare. I don’t know whether I’ll be arrested or thrown into a detention centre on my next visit,” said Lim, who gave up his Malaysian citizenship in 2006 to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain status in Britain.

Well, I don't know what to say. Feel bad about them? Yes, because they are now without citizenship, meaning they a bunch of nationless people. They cannot travel to anywhere else. They are treated like illegal migrants. They cannot own any assets in any country of this world. But, do Britian govrnment really wants them? They had chances, hopes, dreams but everything seems bleak now.

Just one lingering question in my mind.......If the Malaysian goverment offers the citizenship back to them, will they come back?

Well....its been long since I updated my blog as I have been busy preparing some reports for my internship. This morning, I came across this news on TheStar online news. Well, here is the extract of the news.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced on Monday a series of targets for the government to meet in the next few years and the ministers responsible for it.

He said he would personally oversee the six ministers.

* To reduce street crimes by 20% by the end of 2010 as part of the Government’s KPI target.

* To ensure 80% of Malaysian children get access to pre-school by 2012. Currently only 60% have access.

* By 2012, all school kids must master reading, writing and mathematics by Year 4.

* The Kelana Jaya LRT line is to get 35 new four-car train sets by 2012 as part of the Government's efforts to increase public transport usage to 25% from the present 16%.

* To ensure that by 2012, no one lives further than five kilometres from a tarred road and to build 50,000 homes for the poor.

* To improve the international perception of corruption in Malaysia by improving the country's ranking in the world's corruption index.

Well, after reading this piece of news, I am thinking only one question: Is the gov serious this time in improving life of all its citizens? These issues that Najib pointed out are actually long lingering problems that he inherited from the previous gov under Pak Lah.

Sincerely, I think Najib is doing well in listing out some of the targets that he thinks that he can achieve in the next few years. How long does it take? I dun know. No one will ever know and it really depends on how our politicians plan to achieve those targets. At least, I mean at least there are some promises. At least there is tiny little hope here.

I really hope that Najib could do well, lead his charges to achieve the target within his period in the office. Please, I am sick of listening comments such as "Give me four more years and I will do it for you", "There are many complications in achieving the target", blah blah blah.......If you dare to set out the target, please do not disappoint the nation again in the end.

Tell you what Najib, if you can realise the targets, I think it is good enough to impress some of us. I can see that you are trying to be more open to the public by having polls and dialogues with us. I really hope that you can do well as I can see that you are trying hard. I wish you all luck that you need to have. For the rest, you will have to find on your own. I have a confidence in you, so please do not disappoint me.

If you failed to achieve the targets, I think it will be reflected in the next general election result. People, give him a chance to show what he has in his pocket!!!

NAJIB: I hope you are serious this time!! BN does not have much credit left if you do not earn it.

To MCA: Stop fighting. or else 两败俱伤，鱼翁will得利！(sorry....not reflecting Ong Tee Keat here...just coincidence)

Patriotism

To the Singaporeans sitting opposite my cubicle, please be careful of your words. When your country now is greatly affected by the flu, please do not think that all other countries should be worst than you. Stop those arrogant attitude, it only makes other good Singaporeans look bad.

Who do you think you are to judge things by your own way? Don't you have any common sense?

Here are some of the reasons:

1. Your country is so small. Spreading of virus will of course takes place very fast. One infected person can come to contact with many people in an area with such high population density. There is nothing surprising when the total number of locally transmitted cases sore rapidly.

2. Singapore is a global city. Great amount of people come in from all over the places everyday. Changi airport is also a popular transit gateway for kangaroo route. Therefore, people from Australia for example, will transit in Singapore too. This will naturally increase the probability of bringing the virus in. While people in Malaysia spend their vacation locally, most Singaporean will travel abroad for their holidays. This is also the main source for travel related cases in Singapore.

3. Please read the news carefully. Do you think that all the cases in Singapore are reported? Read Straits Times today (30 June 2009). There are so many unreported cases which the parents did not even bother the consequences.

To the person: please, you can comment about a country, but please do it in a more polite way rather than pointing fingers and saying something that might be wrong so convincingly before knowing the facts. You are a PhD student, you should have a more mature and objective thinking and opinion.

I am happy that I just heard another Singaporean using my point to say something more objective while I am writing this. Learn from him!!!

I am sorry that you met a very very patriotic person, probably one of the most patriotic person by nature.

Do I feel disappointed for Malaysia? Yes, of course. There are a lot of things that is bad in Malaysia, not to mention the ever turtle like speed of broadband connection. When the politicians screwed up something in Malaysia, I am also very angry and disappointed. But I love my country, just like how the lyrics of the national anthem:

This is my birth place, the place I grew up, the place that nurtured me to who I am now. There is no other place that is like my homeland, sincerely, no matter how bad it has became, or how unjust I was treated. I can understand how the formal Malaya Communist Party leader Chin Peng feels right now at this moment. It is very very sad not to be able to return to a country that he loves so much. No matter how history took place, we should show some symphaty and mercy. Come on, he is an old man. Just leave him alone, let him back. In the end, people just want to return the place he is familiar deep in his heart.

Everytime when I heard or saw a comment regarding Malaysia, I will listen or read carefully every word. I felt pround, when people did praise Malaysia, from the bottom of my heart. I felt disappointed, when people blasted Malaysia for something that is bad. I felt angry, when people saying something bad about Malaysia that is not true.

I am studying in overseas now. Why? Because Malaysia could not offer what I really want. One day, I am going to come back, hopefully I will get a chance to do what I want, with the determination of creating one too.

However, this will be a long long journey ahead of me......

To the PM Najib: from the day you took the office until now, most of the decisions that you have made, at least in my opinion as a citizen, have been really really fine and encouraging. I hope that you will be presistant in the future, to realise the concept of 1Malaysia, to bring back the harmony in the country, and follow the footstep of your father in achieving integration and unity among people in this lovely country.

Its spreading fast!!!!

On 28 June, Singapore has confirmed 145 new cases (454th to 599th cases) of Influenza A (H1N1-2009) today, bringing the total tally to 599 confirmed cases. In addition to these 145 new cases, 77 other cases were pending investigation yesterday. Of these 222 cases, 117 have been investigated. They comprise 94 local cases, and 23 imported cases. The remaining 105 cases are still being investigated.

Though the number of infected cases has increased, the severity of the disease remains relatively mild. Singaporeans should carry on with their usual activities whilst observing good personal hygiene at all times.

The 94 new local cases comprise 19 new cases in the Republic Polytechnic cluster, 8 new cases in the Butter Factory cluster, 2 new cases in the Pulau Tekong cluster and one new case in the Maju Camp cluster. In addition - there are 3 new clusters one from Clementi Camp comprising 43 new cases and 2 previously unlinked case, one from Police Coast Guard comprising 3 new cases and 1 previously unlinked case and Social (Party) comprising 1 new case and 3 previously unlinked cases.

Well, we have to brace for the worst!

Well, the original link is here. But I am not going to list out eveything here. I will discuss some interesting ones here, which I found to be quite true. Haha.

Here are some of them:

4. You think there's nothing wrong with putting chili sauce on everything you eat.

Hmm...........I personally think this is more of common problem in ASEAN countries. We just like chili too much....BO BIAN!

6. You join queues without knowing or caring what the queue is for.

This is the common scene in Singapore. Whenever you see a queue, you know there will be good stuff, most probably free stuff that you can grab. I have seen this many times, and it never failed to amazed me. Luckily I am still not attracted to this kind of things.

7. You can type an SMS on your phone as quickly as you would if you had a regular keyboard.

Yes.....I can type sms now very very fast, even you people know that I usually type full words on my sms. Things has to be done quick here, even SMSes. :-).

16. "Crossing the country" means taking the MRT to the end of the line.

Well.........this is true here in Singapore. When you travel from the west end of Joo Koon station to the east end of Pasir Ris station, you have done a "cross country ride", from the very west, passing through the central, then to the very east side. Haha.

17. Most or all of these acronyms make sense to you: NUS; NTU; ERP; SDU; PAP; MRT; LKY; GCT; PRC; TIBS; SBS; SMS; JB; JBJ; AMK; AYE; PIE; ECP; ISD; ISA; 5 C's; CPF; CHIJMES; SPG; CWO.

18. You use too many acronyms when you talk, or you create new ones.

To live in Singapore, you have to be familiar with all these acronyms. If not, don't think of surviving. Even in NUS, we have our own system of acronyms. I will discuss this in details in another post. Haha. BTW, I do recognise 95% of the acronyms listed, and there are hundreds more.

30. You don't think any dish of Western food is complete without baked beans.

Oh my.....this is so so so true. Baked beans are like free here, they just put it in almost all of the so called "western food". I even see baked beans in fish and chips, which makes me quite upset.

33. You wear winter clothes indoors and summer clothes outdoors.

I am totally feeling this right now. I am wearing jacket in my office, and I try to wear as light as possible outdoors as it is so hot here.

Here come the best of all.

40. You're not confused by a street naming system that locates streets like Clementi Road, Clementi Street, Clementi Crescent, Clementi Lane, Clementi Drive, Clementi Way, and Clementi Avenues 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 all within walking distance of each other.

Singapore has its very "special" or rather boring way of naming streets. In a HDB estate town especially, you will see roads names as above, and guess what, you will never be confused at all once you know it all.

49. You don't have a problem with four different direct payment systems spread out over seven different cards in your wallet.

Yes, I am getting used to it now. You can pay something by CASH, by NETS, by CASHCARD, by EZ-LINK card, and also by CREDIT CARD. There are so many cards, and sometimes you can only use particular one to make payment. Worst of all, some cards need to be topped up every now and then and when you forget, you can never get what you wan, even you have enough cash.

57. You think a bus is incomplete without a TV.

Yes...........a bus is incomplete without a TV. Every morning I will watch morning news on TV in the bus, with my mp3 player tuned to the right FM frequency for the voive. One day I was so disappointed that I could not watch my show on TV as the bus is not equip with one.

Hmm...........looks like I better come back to Malaysia more often............

H1N1 ALERT!!!!!

No......................no....................I am still healthy, I am not down to H1N1 Influenza A virus, not yet (choi! choi! choi!, never had). But hoh, it seems that this virus is just around the corner. Looks like its everywhere and everyone has a very reason to worry about this virus. Just when I thought the situation is no good in Malaysia, to my horror, Singapore is worse.

And to my bigger horror, the virus was so near to me a few days ago. News reports had been saying that a girl was down after taking part in a church camp from June 15 to June 18 at, guess what, the place that I currently lives, which is Prince George's Park Residences NUS. Here's the quote from the news:

"The other two cases are a 22-year-old Singaporean female student who had taken part in a church camp at Prince George's Park from Monday to Thursday last week (June 15 - June 18) and a 21-year-old Singaporean national serviceman based at the Clementi Police Station."

Hmm.......the virus is just within what.....500m from me? I remember I did see a group of people having a camp last week. Luckily I did not get too close to them. As far as I know from the ad on SBS bus, the virus can travel 1m, which, I think I am in safe distance.

Things are getting worse each day as H1N1 starts strengthening their foothold in the community. As I am writting this, two schools in Malaysia has been ordered to shut down for one week, with students and teachers from 3 classes in different schools ordered to stay at home. The international school, SMK Sri Cempaka, is where my cousin is studying now. He is in form 5 this year, and the student down H1N1 is probably his classmate.

I will not post any details on YY's party last sat, as most of the people are there, some celebrating and savouring the moment! Haha. No, definitely not me. Darling, NOT me. Just kidding. :-). However, 我其实已经没有太常见到马六甲的朋友们了，所以have been through this, and 已经习惯了。And I think we should keep the details to ourselves who attended. And thanks for the SMS you sent to me. Hehe. Just that to my surprise, the photos were uploaded so fast that on the next day (sunday) afternoon, someone was already sending me my pic holding a mic singing through msn. He told me he found that in facebook. Sigh...........

Yayayaya..................FACEBOOK. I promised my darling to have my facebook set up. I will probably do this later this week. I will keep you all update on this. Hehe.

Every close friend of mine is special to me in their own way and nothing compares to the friendship that I have. I am lucky to have friends behind me supporting me, although I cannot see them.......RIGHT? RIGHT?! I hope I am right. :-P

So to Yuen Yi: All the best in your studies and hopefully I can "utilise" you one day for hmm........ probably i will get a chance to utilise you.......I hope I will not be involved in any legal dispute!!!!!

Sorry for not updating my blog recently....have been very busy!

How busy am I? Let me tell you what I did everyday last week......

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday:

7.00am: "first" wake up, by first alarm, and sleep

7.15am: "second" wake up, by second alarm, and sleep again

7.30am: "third" wake up, not by alarm, but by "self guiltiness"

7.45am: walk to bus stop take 183, to clementi mrt, take mrt to pioneer station (about 20 minutes), then take bus 179 to NTU to my office

845am: reach my office, start work

5.30pm: take bus to pioneer mrt, then take mrt to bugis station (40 minutes)

6.30pm: reach bugis station, walk to bugis junction to buy dinner

7.00pm: start meeting

11.00pm: finish meeting

11.30 - 12.00am, got one day 1230am reach my room

And the cycle goes again for the next 4 days.

Saturday: meeting from 930am till 11.000pm

Sunday: two tuition class replacement from 10am to 2pm, then 230pm church service, then 5.oopm start meeting until 1130pm.........

and finally I cannot tahan already...........on Monday (16/6/2009), for the second time in my life, I took a sick leave. The last time I took a sick leave was a 3 weeks break because i kena chicken pox during my korean trip two years ago........i mean for work...hehe. I think you all should know that i dun like to ponteng any class or work...Haha

I really suspected I kena HINI influenza virus....because I got nearly all the symptoms, except (thanks xun xun for pointing the error) one.....I do not have fever above 38oC. If I kena ahh.........cham liao loh............. a lot of people will kena quarantine....and I also cannot go back home for YY's farewell.

I hadn't had much time for myself last week. My laundry schedule was interrupted, my reading schedule was interrupted, my youtube schedule was interupted.......but I am trying to restore them now.......

My internship basically is in a standstill now. The machine that I am supposed to use for my CNT fabrication broke down....not entirely down, but enough to postpone my experiment. The sup said that the screen of the machine is faulty, which means that we cannot operate the machine well at the settings that is desired. What a sad moment for me......'sigh'

For those who are from MHS, just want to tell that I met Cornelia last week in NUS. She is here in NUS for a joint archi programme between UM and NUS. She will be here until 27 june. We met and talked about each others life recently........hmm....not exactly each other. Haha. Because she was the one doing most of the talking while I just listen to her. I love to listen other people's story, what are their views of life, how do they feel about the situation happening around them. She looks smaller than ever with her long hair. Did not notice that she has natural curly hair last time. But she is as nice as ever. Hope to see her again this week. Hehe.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be flying back from Singapore to Melaka!!! Haha. Just bought my ticket online to fly Firefly this September during my recess week. Cost? RM77.

Yaya......I know I know.......A little bit expensive........ more expensive then my usual bus trip from JB which cost just RM21. But when you consider the cost of bus ticket from Singapore to Melaka, it costs S$25, which is equivalent to RM60. So.............I think is worth it......Hehe.

I am flying back to Melaka......but probably only this time......if next time got promotion then I will buy again......

最近我迷上了两部电视剧：《比赛开始》和《痞子英雄》。我极力推荐，因为真的很好看，连他们的电视剧主题曲都很好听。我会把link在最后给你们，让你们去观赏。我会一一介绍两部剧集。这两部剧一星期只在周末播出，所以不用每天追。两部片子都差不多到了中段，即将进入高潮，所以现在看还来得及。而且都是男的帅女的美哦！！！

两部片子有共同点，就是都有英雄，但是不一样的英雄。在上一次我说过我不喜欢看被人欺负的影片，而碰巧这两部都是颂赞英雄。或许潜意识里我现在处在某些情况，下次和大家分享。

先介绍比赛开始吧！这部剧是我在看《王牌大贱谍》时发现的，当时他们在宣传这部片子，而节目主持人之一的梁赫群，就是这部《比赛开始》导演梁修身的儿子。片子讲述一名逃兵的年轻人，逃到花莲乡下，到矶崎国小当棒球教练。他给了乡下小孩和村民冠军的希望。但就在他被宪兵抓回去后，却也拿走了他们的希望，自己过了五年在监狱与兵营折磨的生活。出来后，他变得沧桑许多，想要撇下从前重新开始。经过煎熬，他最终决定回去矶崎，把尚欠的一个冠军赛还给这群已经长大的小孩。接下来的剧情就要等了。更多资料。主要演员有李国毅、卢学睿。

这部片果然是梁修身所执导，非常优秀。看这部片，我曾经很开心的笑，也曾经不由自主地落泪。里面有很多感动，看着一个年轻人如何的挣扎、努力、身不由己、对父母的亏欠等等，挥洒的淋漓尽致。有别于一般的偶像剧，这出戏的剧本写的非常非常好，导演的手法也非常非常成熟。

我特别喜欢男主角李国毅，他抓到了整个角色的精髓，尤其他自己一个人的戏，非常内敛，时常让我久久不能忘怀。你能够从他的表情当中，读出所要表达的情感。看这部片，会令我想起自己身在一个怎样的情况。如果我是那个主角，现实生活中我会怎么做呢？朋友，我们都长大了，所面对生活上的难题，也会变得越来越真实，越来越困难。心里各种的挣扎与不平，也常常让我们学习成长，面对将来。到目前为止，我学习到重要的功课就是忍耐！！

这部戏带给我非常多地感动，虽然现在只播了一半。它有能力让我们衡量许多生活上的事情，至少前面的十集是这样。盼望朋友们也可以从中得到。

片子主题曲是阿杜的完美英雄，歌词写得非常好，也很感动，可以鼓励自己。阿杜唱也很好听。

《痞子英雄》是仔仔与赵又廷主演。为什么值得看？因为它是充满时代感的警匪片。我个人认为此片在高雄取景是对的，就像CSI影集一样的效果。整部戏的铺陈都很棒，而且充满转折，是台湾偶像剧中我认为比较用心的一部。没有平常偶像剧泛滥的爱情故事，取代而之的却是警匪片刺激感，但也没有过分的骚弄。相信大家应该知道我平常喜欢看CSI影集，所以自然也会喜欢这部。不过，我相信朋友们也应该会喜欢。

本剧主题曲无赖正义也非常好听哦！

I am blogging this from my office. Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

One week has past my progress is quite slow due to a lot of unforseen cirumstances. For example, I never know that I can sleep during work for five consecutive days, meaning I fell asleep while reading journal papers everyday last week in my office. GENG leh!!!!!!!!! But at least I handed in my first literature review on CNTs. Tomorrow will be deadline for another report on the materials or chemicals that I want to use for my experiemnt. They will have to order the chemicals if they are not available in the lab. Hehe.

I am still all alone in my office, or rather cubicle, if the word OFFICE leads to a big misunderstanding. There are six places available in each row and I am the only one occupying the whole spece. That is why I am all alone, nobody to talk to. So kesian........................

Have been reading a lot papers this past week.

Firefly is flying from Singapore to Melaka. Yeah!!!!! But I wonder how much will the fare be. Please.............tolong tolong............ cheaper a bit lah so I can fly back easily................not need to wake up at 5am to go to the woodlands checkpoint to avoid congestion. And I am still very angry with the design of the raod system at the causeway JB side. Who on earth will design a highly congested road with only two lanes without allocating dedicated lane to the buses? I have to stand for so long in the bus with all the cars. Hey.....poeple in the car got nice leather seat, air con, can listen to MYFM, can eat somemore! Me leh? Stand there like in the sardine fish can, sweating, have to tahan the smell of other people.........

Last week was calm. Nothing happened. Just work work work, meeting meeting meeting, work work work, search search search.................Once you start work, everything will be tied up to your working hours. There is not much time left after that for other activities. Had to sleep early to wake up early tomorrow morning. Have not been reading a good book lately.........所谓“三日不读书，面目可憎”！My 面目 now is very 憎！Haha. Sorry no offence to my friend here, but this sentence is so Singaporean/ how certain (most) Singaporean talk. Haha.

Internship

Dear all, decided to use english since it is faster as i am going to sleep soon to wake up early tomorrow to work.

Today is my first day of work in SIMTech A'STAR. I am so so excited to go there as I really want to know how things are done in research company. My project title is "Development of 3D carbon nanotubes (CNT) for electrochemical applications.

I was greeted by my supervisor, Miss Wendy when I arrived. She is even taller than me and she looks like a rojak between chinese and some other races. She is quite nice though. Then the she handed me a paper and part of it says this:

Week 1: To understand what CNT is: atomic structure, properties, systhesis method, application in green energy.

This looks fine but wait, there is a catch:

Deliverable: Week 1 report: Literature review on CNTs

Presentation: 45 mins presentation on this topics

Wait wait..........ya you see it right......45 minutes........what? Am I suppose to talk about 45 minutes? that is crazy........how am i suppose to talk so much while to topic is so little? My friend did suggest that I can spell out every work that I say during the presentation! That should make 45 minutes.

And is the same for week 2 and week 3, report and presentations on different topics. Ok, never mind, guess I can do that. Hehe.

Then come the interesting part:

Week 4: Deposition of CNT network

Characterization of CNT network: SEM, Raman, etc.

And with the report of course. This looks interesting. I think I will love this. Hehe. I share the rest next time.

I was also given a tour to the facilities in SIMTech and tell you what, there are huge machines all over the place, state of the art research facilities. It is at least 3 times bigger than the equipment that I have seen in NUS. Some machines are at least 2 to 3 times the human height. Hmm.........wonder I have a chance to use them for my intenship....Haha.

But today basically I was given a cubicle with a computer. So my job today was to do a literature survey on CNT. Browse the net, nus library, e book for information. And so this week.

熟悉的陌生人

当你走在街上，运气好，会碰见某一种人。你曾经和他交谈，你曾经和他因为某一个笑话而开怀，甚至你们也曾经在一起吃饭。当随着日子过去，你和他渐渐没有交集，手机里可能还有留着电话，但也不会主动按下拨打，连寒暄几句都觉得：还是算了。就在这时候，迎面而来的他，可能和你一样，有这样的心情。

人是奇怪的。你可以选择和他打招呼，就算点个头微笑，也不为过。但，我总是觉得不好意思。心里不停的想着：对方还认识我吗？我对他微笑，他会有反应吗？还是不要好了，免得尴尬。就在这时，你选择把目光放在其他东西上，看看手表，望一下手上的书，弄弄衣服，假装没看见。如果对方认得我的话，那该多好哇！可是，他也非主动的。这是，就在那一瞬间，你和他交错，彼此没有对到眼神。就这样，你错过了一个非常好的机会。

我曾经就碰到了许多这样的人。我很想重新认识他们，却因为自己的顾虑，而导致机会流失，自个儿纳闷。我很想告诉他：嘿，你好吗？最近怎样了？还记得我吗？可是，我没有那样的勇气。哈哈。

考试终于过去了。接下来，我将会在新加坡进行我的INTERNSHIP，我的薪金也重新调整到了六百新币。也！

最近发现一件事情，十分惊奇。

我发现我不喜欢看悲情剧，或是在戏里面某人被欺负的戏，而独爱喜剧，且能一路笑到底的。或许，这也是一种纾解压力发泄的管道吧，能让一天的疲劳都跑到云霄外。

不过，我发现，我的笑声越来越恐怖，有机会的话请你亲自品尝！

最近在土豆一口气重看完了“小孩不笨2”十三集的连续剧，有新的感触。什么感触？不要吓倒，不过，我发觉如果我有个弟弟，他会是怎样呢？我和他，是否吵吵闹闹，还是彼此无所不谈的好兄弟？或许上帝知道我会宠坏他，所以让我一个人享受！是享受吗？或许和我一样的独生子比较了解我吧！

最近我迷上了新加坡第八频道的连续剧“书包太重”，又是一部讲述教育的片子。我非常喜欢这样类似得剧集，因为我有机会可以探讨现代教育的问题与弱点。孩子的教育是非常重要的。父母怎么教育孩子，孩子以后就会从中结果，是好是坏，重要因素就取决于父母。培养与孩子近距离沟通是非常重要的，父母可以更了解孩子。

我觉得我很幸运，生在马来西亚，父母也没有给我太大的压力。或许，我是比较幸运的吧！不是每个人都这样。父母适当的压力，是可取的，不过也得看看孩子自己的能力与情况。“人比人，气死人”这句话是对的，因为“天生我才必有用”才是正确的。有些父母对孩子太过苛刻的要求，是不适当的，尤其在新加坡这么竞争的社会里，这情况非常明显。还给孩子他们的童年吧！也不要抹杀他们的兴趣。

有时间的话，听听这首歌的歌词吧！“小孩不笨1”的主题曲〈有用的人〉或许你听过，不过在听一次，留心听歌词，或许会有不一样的感动。

最近半夜了还不睡觉，不想~

你是否和我一样呢？哈哈

我发现人压抑久了，真的会闷出病来。以前不会这么觉得，但近来越有感觉了。

突然看见一句话，让我感触很深: "人不要长大得太快，不然会失去很快！”。人真的会变，突然看见了很多现实，也必须接受很多现实。

这几天在土豆看了很多电影，突然很入戏，好恐怖！有机会下次分享吧！
